Meet Monica...

Monica is the author of "As Real As It Gets" her debut novel which was released in January 2005. "As Real As It Gets" was identified by Black Expressions Book Club as "Hot and In High Demand" by its readers. Black Expressions also identified Monica as one of their "Favorite New Authors" in August of 2005. Her adult novel, "From Here To Forever", was released in March 2006 by Harlequin/Kimani Press. Her award-winning short story "Aunt Pearl" was considered for inclusion in Chicken Soup for the African American Soul, making it to the semi-finals. Her highly anticipated young adult novel "Indigo Summer" was one of Essence Magazine's bestsellers for June 2007, as well as listed on Black Images Book Review's bestsellers list. Indigo Summer was also the launch title for Harlequin's new young adult imprint, Kimani TRU. Monica has written six full-length novels, to include a third adult title THE EVENING AFTER and three young adult titles (INDIGO SUMMER, TROUBLE FOLLOWS and THE PACT).  THE PACT, which is the third book in the INDIGO SUMMER series, is scheduled for release in June 2008. 

She attended Baker University and the University of Phoenix.  Monica is a CTM with Toastmasters International.  She's also a member of the Authors Guild.

Monica lives in the Dallas area with her family.  Currently she's working on her fourth book in the INDIGO SUMMER series, JADED.  It's scheduled for release in December 2008.
